  • The OLLIE top is designed for versatility and a range of body types. A twist on the classic peasant top, it can be worn off the shoulders or pulled closer to the neck. The one-size-fits-all OLLIE top has a flowing fit with short, loose sleeves and a wide, rounded neckline with a drawstring. With its gathered neckline and fluttery hem, this top is designed for movement.

Natalie Chanin is a designer, artist, writer, and the founder of Alabama Chanin, Project Threadways, and The School of Making. She has a degree in environmental design with an emphasis in industrial and craft-based textiles. She has written six books on the subjects of sewing, pattern-making, design, and the history of textiles in the South. A mother of two, Natalie is an avid gardener, cook, and entertainer from her home in The Shoals.

  • Fabric recommendations:
Choose any jersey knit. This design works best in medium–weight fabrics. The navy sample is made in “Organic Cotton Jersey Knit” (100% cotton, 9.8 oz/332 gsm) and the hand-sewn appliquéd sample is made in two layers of the same fabric, stencilled with The School of Making’s “Bloomers” design and worked in negative reverse appliqué with “Navy Button Craft Thread”. All materials are by The School of Making.

    Fabric requirements:

The OLLIE top is offered in one size corresponding to TAUKO sizes 1 to 9.

Top fabric for single-layer garment: width 60"/150 cm, length 90"/230 cm

Top fabric for double-layer garment: width 60"/150 cm, length 180"/460 cm

  • Files:
A4 (home printing) and A0 (copy shop printing) PDF files with layers, sizes nested. Sewing instructions are on a separate PDF file.

    Delivery:
After purchasing, you will receive a link to download and print the digital pattern in tiled and layered A4 and A0 size for easy at home printing. There are no delivery charges for the digital patterns, as they are delivered automatically via email immediately after purchase.
