NIETOS coat
by Mila Moisio
#TAUKOnietos

  • NIETOS is the ultimate coat to keep you warm in the winter months or provide protection during the transitional seasons. This versatile pattern offers two variations to choose from.

The long coat version features quilted padding for maximum warmth and is ideal for advanced sewists. With side slits, an inside pocket, front zipper, press studs, elasticated sleeves, and a protective hood, this coat will keep you cosy from neck to toe. The drawstring at the waist allows you to adjust the fit to accommodate the layers you want to wear underneath.

  • For the quilt batting coat version, you’ll need a main fabric, lining, and batting fabric. Choose medium to heavy-weight materials like cotton canvas for the main fabric, 5.3–7.5oz/180–250 gsm batting (preferably natural fibres such as wool, cotton, or bamboo, or recycled polyester), and batiste or other breathable yet durable fabrics for the lining. For the unlined jacket version, choose heavyweight fabrics with non-toxic waterproof treatments. Feel free to experiment with wool, plush fabrics, or twill for added texture and style.

  • For sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9)

    Coat version with quilted batting:

WINTER WONDER hood
by Sophie Hood
#TAUKOwinterwonder

  • Winter Wonder Hood can be made in a multitude of ways, so have fun with it! Many variations can be achieved by using different fabrics, affecting the size of the face opening. For versions made with woven fabrics, choose a larger opening than for versions made with knitted fabric. Adjust the width and length of the neckband to change the look and feel. Or leave off the neckband and just hem the bottom to create a cute little hood! You can add a pom-pom to the top for a bit of fun, or leave the hood unadorned for a more practical look.

  • A quilted cotton works well to give the hood a bit more structure. Use wool coating for a warm, woolly, non-stretch version. Alternatively, you could use a waxed canvas lined with flannel for a rainy-day option, or even make a lightweight cotton version. You could also use a fluffy sweatshirt fleece for a stretchy, cosy option.

In addition to the main fabric, you’ll need a ribbed or knitted fabric with at least 25% stretch for the neck ribbing and face opening ribbing. For the quilted version, you’ll need batting, preferably natural fibres such as wool, cotton, or bamboo, or polyester batting made from recycled materials.

  • For sizes 1–3 (4–6, 7–9)

    Hood fabric:
    width 55"/140 cm, length 16.2 (17, 18.9)" / 41 (43, 48) cm

    Lining (optional):
    width 55"/140 cm, length 16.2 (17, 18.9)"/ 41 (43, 48) cm

    Batting (optional):
    width 55"/140 cm, length 16.2 (17, 18.9)"/ 41 (43, 48) cm

    Rib fabric:
width 39.3"/100 cm, length 15"/38 cm

KALLIO top
by Inessa Jääskeläinen
#TAUKOkallio

  • Inessa’s idea for KALLIO was to create a garment that was simple yet elegant and original. This top with sleeves and sleeveless variations was inspired by artists’ work jackets, and the name comes from the Kallio district, a popular area for artists in Helsinki.

  • Choose a light to medium-weight woven fabric such as cotton, wool, viscose, or a blend like viscose/linen or linen/cotton.

  • For sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9)

    Long-sleeved top fabric:
    width 55"/140 cm, length 47.7 (48.1, 52, 64.6, 77.2) (80.8, 83.5, 83.9, 84.7)" / 121 (122, 132, 164, 196) (205, 212, 213, 215) cm

    Sleeveless top fabric:
    width 55"/140 cm, length 35.5 (35.5, 37.1, 41.4, 56.7) (57.9, 58.3, 58.7, 59.1)" / 90 (90, 94, 105, 144) (147, 148, 149, 150) cm

    Interfacing (optional):
width 35.4"/90 cm, length 19.7"/50 cm

MOVEMENT jacket
by Jenny Hassler
#TAUKOmovement

  • The MOVEMENT jacket is a captivating blend of style and activism. This cropped statement piece features tapered raglan sleeves, a peplum option, and a protest patch on the back. The addition of the peplum along the hem adds a touch of femininity, while the metallic zipper adds a rugged contrast, especially when paired with the protest patch. Crafted from sheer fabrics like lace, MOVEMENT turns into a festive head-turner finished with binding for a delicate touch. Closure options include light hooks, offering versatility and style.

  • MOVEMENT can be made in a wide range of woven fabrics – from lightweight lace to medium-weight denim or canvas. For the version with a zipper closure at the front, we recommend a sturdy, medium-weight fabric such as denim.

  • For sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9)

Jacket fabric with peplum and facing:
    width 55"/140 cm, length 59.1 (61.5, 63, 63, 67.8) (78.8, 81.5, 85.5, 89)" / 150 (156, 160, 160, 172) (200, 207, 217, 226) cm

    Jacket fabric without peplum/facing:
    width 55"/140 cm, length 44.9 (46.1, 46.9, 48.1, 49.7) (56.3, 57.9, 59.9, 62.6)" / 114 (117, 119, 122, 126) (143, 147, 152, 159) cm

    Interfacing:
    width 35.4"/90 cm, length 15.7"/40cm

DYNAMO dress
by Kaisa Rissanen
#TAUKOdynamo

  • The DYNAMO dress is an ode to the traditional dress with a gathered skirt. The simple version made with one single fabric is a great base for colourful prints, while the version with two contrasting fabrics is a fun puzzle to put together in a slightly new way. “I can't wait to see what you come up with!”.

  • DYNAMO can be adapted to different types of woven and non-stretch fabrics.Choose fabrics such as cotton, linen, satin, silk, or viscose from 1.77 oz/60 gsm to 6.34 oz/180 gsm.

LILLY dress
by Sara Hallander
#TAUKOlilly

  • LILLY is a sleeveless A-line dress that is perfect both for warm summer days or worn layered with a fitted top, tights, and boots in the colder months. It has a notched collar and is closed with buttons at the front. The dress has bust darts for a better fit and a yoke at the back, which provides perfect seams if you need to make adjustments for a rounded back, for example.

  • Choose a lightweight woven fabric such as poplin, Tencel, muslin, linen, viscose, silk, or thin wool. The drape of the fabric will give your garment a very different look. A more structured fabric, such as poplin or linen, will create a clear A-line shape whereas a drapey viscose will fall straight down.

  • For sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9)

    Midi dress fabric:
    width 55"/140 cm, length 78.4 (81.5, 84.3, 87.1, 90.2) (93.4, 94.9, 97.3, 102.4)" / 199 (207, 214, 221, 229) (237, 241, 247, 260) cm

    Midi interfacing:
    width 35.4"/90 cm, length 42.6 (44.1, 45.3, 46.9, 48.5) (50, 50.8, 51.6, 52.4)" / 108 (112, 115, 119, 123) (127, 129, 131, 133) cm

    Maxi dress fabric:
    width 55"/140 cm, length 103.6 (104.8, 105.6, 106.7, 107.9) (114.2, 117.8, 118.9, 122.9)" / 263 (266, 268, 271, 274) (290, 299, 302, 312) cm

    Maxi interfacing:

LOÏE blouse
by Juliette Gallois
#TAUKOloie

  • The LOÏE blouse features a unique yoke with no shoulder seams and delicate gathers at the front and back for a touch of romance. The yoke is fully lined for a beautiful, neat finish. The sleeves have an opening from the elbow to the cuff, revealing your arms. For a different look, you can skip the cuff and create a hem for a flared finish. Topstitching is optional and can be omitted for a simpler design. The LOÏE design is easy to alter, making it a perfect project for sewists of all levels.

  • LOÏE can be adapted to different types of woven and non-stretch fabrics. For a lighter and more airy look, choose a light cotton, satin, silk, or viscose from 2.36 oz/70 gsm to 6.34 oz/180 gsm.
