EXCITED STATE top
by Marja Niemi
#TAUKOexcitedstate

  • The EXCITED STATE top is designed for movement. An optional back pocket holds your essentials, leaving your hands free for full-body activities. The top also features an integrated sports bra that can be adjusted for optimal support: a lighter version that is great for activities such as hiking and cycling, and a more structured version that you can use for running or gymnastics.

The hem comes in two variations: a slim and aerodynamic version for activities such as running, and a flared version that moves beautifully for activities such as dancing.

  • The top can be made using light or medium-weight stretch fabrics, depending on the intended use. Lycra knits and cotton/elastane jerseys are recommended for the main top. The integrated sports bra can be made in the same fabric as the main top or in more supportive Lycra knits. For added functionality, you can use Powernet, Coolmax, or other breathable sports knits for both the integrated bra and the main top. The integrated bras in the samples are made partly of Coolmax and partly of Lycra or Jersey (top fabric).

  • Top fabric (including bias) for slim version: Width 55"/140 cm, length 56.7 (57.9, 59.5, 61.1, 62.6) (64.2, 65, 65.8, 66.6)" / 144 (147, 151, 155, 159) (163, 165, 167, 169) cm

    Top fabric (including bias) for flared version: width 55"/140 cm, length 59.1 (61.1, 62.6, 64.2, 65.8) (67.8, 68.6, 69.3, 70.1)"/ 150 (155, 159, 163, 167) (172, 174, 176, 178) cm

    Inner fabric for light support integrated bra: width 55"/140 cm, length 15.8 (15.8, 17.4, 22.5, 23.7) (33.9, 34.7, 35.9, 37.1)"/ 40 (40, 44, 57, 60) (86, 88, 91, 94) cm

    Inner fabric A (same fabric as main or a heavier weight Lycra knit) for structured support integrated bra: width 55"/140 cm, length 15.8 (16.6, 22.5, 22.9, 23.3) (31.5, 34.7, 35.9, 36.3)"/ 40 (42, 57, 58, 59) (80, 88, 91, 92) cm

    Inner fabric B (Powernet, Coolmax, or similar) for structured support integrated bra: width 55"/140 cm, length 15 (15.4, 16.2, 16.2, 17) (26.4, 27.2, 27.6, 28.8)" / 38 (39, 41, 41, 43) (67, 69, 70, 73) cm

FLING trousers
by Stina Dahlin
#TAUKOfling

  • The FLING trousers offer a chic twist on loungewear, perfect for those embracing the athleisure trend.

Unable to find a stylish pair of tracksuit bottoms that could also double as comfortable and fashionable trousers, Stina Dahlin created the sewing pattern for FLING. The design can be sewn as trousers in strong, sturdy jersey fabrics such as Ponte di Roma, or as yoga pants in soft cotton jersey, offering versatility for any occasion. Whether in elegant black, grey, beige, or vibrant patterns, Stina hopes that FLING will become one of the most versatile and useful pieces in your wardrobe.

  • Choose medium-weight knit or woven stretch fabrics – for example, 95% cotton, 5% Lycra. Soft sweatshirt fabrics with stretch, Ponte di Roma, cotton jersey, or other jersey fabrics with at least 5% stretch are great for this design. Keep in mind that different types of knit/jersey fabrics can give different results in terms of size. Also, remember to pre-wash fabrics that may shrink before cutting them.

  • For sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9)

    Top fabric: width 59"/150 cm, length 16.5 (16.9, 16.9, 17.3, 17.3) (19.3, 19.7, 19.7, 19.7)" / 42 (43, 43, 44, 44) (49, 50, 50, 50) cm

KAARI top and dress
by Kaisa Rissanen
#TAUKOkaari

  • KAARI dress is perfect for layering, summer days, and sports. Its loose-fitting cut allows air to circulate inside the garment, so you’ll feel pleasantly cool even in warm temperatures. You can make KAARI as a mini dress or as a cropped top. The dress version has pockets in the front and a neckline finished with facings. The top version has bias binding at the neckline. This pattern is super simple and easy to make. You can play around with different colours or combine different fabric textures or prints. Let your creativity flow!

  • For the dress version, choose medium-weight knit fabrics or jerseys. For the top version, light and medium-weight fabrics with drape like viscose, Tencel, or linen blends work well.

  • For sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9)

    Dress fabric: width 55''/140 cm, length 61.1 (64.6, 68.2, 73.7, 92.6) (93.8, 94.1, 94.9, 95.7)" / 155 (164, 173, 187, 235) (238, 239, 241, 243) cm

    Top fabric: width 55''/140 cm, length 47.7 (48.5, 49.3, 50.4, 51.2) (52.4, 53.2, 53.6, 54.8)" / 121 (123, 125, 128, 130) (133, 135, 136, 139) cm

LUMI blouse
by Mila Moisio
#TAUKOlumi

  • LUMI embodies the feeling of slipping into your favourite oversized jumper, a layer that can be worn with anything. The LUMI jumper features batwing sleeves, front pockets, and bias detail on the back. The stripe detail lends a sporty vibe to the design and offers opportunities to play with colour blocking and unconventional patterns. While originally designed for knit fabrics, it seamlessly transitions to wovens. This versatile piece is both easy to create and easy to wear and it celebrates the joys of everyday life and the simple pleasures of lounging in comfortable clothing.

  • Choose medium to heavy-weight knits or jerseys for sporty and activewear versions. Use plush fabric for greater comfort and warmth. To create a casual look, choose a medium-weight linen. Choose double gauze for a cosy feel and draping fabrics such as silk or Tencel for an elegant look.

  • For sizes 1–3 (4–6, 7–9)

    Jumper fabric: width 55"/140 cm, length 59.5 (62.6, 68.2)" / 151 (159, 173) cm

MÖTTII top and bottom
by Réka MacDonald
#TAUKOmöttii

  • The MÖTTII set consists of a reversible high-waisted bottom and a top in two different variations. Choose between a cropped, short-sleeved top or a long-sleeved, hiplength version. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, playing water sports, or protecting yourself from the sun with the long-sleeved option, this set is designed to suit your needs. It fits in seamlessly with your active lifestyle, making it ideal for activities such as yoga or dance class.

LOKKA vest
by Sigrid and Solveig Holtvedt
#TAUKOlokka

  • The LØKKA vest is designed for everyday cycling when the weather takes a cooler turn. It boasts delightful accents like a front pocket, triangular back pocket, and unique bag retainers. Simply undo one of the buttons on the bag retainers to effortlessly secure your bag or purse, ensuring it stays put while you cycle around town. The design is influenced by both competitive cycling gear and streetwear fashion. In the spirit of today’s DIY streetwear culture, you can choose whatever colours you prefer to give LØKKA the right edge.

  • To fully capture the vibrant colour-block design, we recommend selecting two different fabrics. For the outer shell of the vest, opt for soft and flexible materials such as teddy, quilt, wool, or cotton canvas. These fabrics not only provide warmth but also offer the comfort needed for easy movement.

As for the outside collar, bag retainers, and pockets, we suggest using a sturdy, solid fabric, especially since the pocket features a zipper that needs to be sewn in securely. Consider using technical fabrics like Gore-Tex, Tyvek, nylon, DWR-coated nylon, or cotton canvas for their durability and ability to create a striking contrast with the main fabric of the vest. If the technical fabric isn’t that sturdy, you can manipulate it with adhesive interfacing. However, make sure that the fabric can be ironed. Note: Before ironing technical fabrics, test the iron on a lower temperature setting. For extra protection, use a special Teflon plate for your iron or place a sheet of baking paper between the iron and the fabric.

For the binding, we recommend using pre-made bias tape in either cotton or viscose, ensuring a neat and professional finish.

  • For sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9)

    Vest fabric: width 55"/140 cm, 32.7 (33.5, 35.9, 37.5, 39.4) (47.7, 50, 52.8, 63)" / 83 (85, 91, 95, 100) (121, 127, 134, 160) cm

    Technical fabric: width 55"/140 cm, 15.8 (16.2, 17, 17.4, 22.5) (22.9, 23.7, 24.9, 25.6)" / 40 (41, 43, 44, 57) (58, 60, 63, 65) cm

The DIANA jumpsuit offers versatile style with easily adjustable wrap straps and a choice of long or short legs. Whether you opt for a long jumpsuit or a playsuit, DIANA is perfect for both summer heat and winter chill. The playsuit version could be made in fun printed poplin fabrics and the full-length jumpsuit in medium to heavy linen or denim fabrics with lots of good drape and a bit of drama.

SWAY dress
by Lauren Merciris
#TAUKOsway

  • The SWAY design embodies the essence of movement and freedom. SWAY is an easy, relaxed A-line dress fitted at the bust and embodying the essence of movement and freedom. Sporty details and unexpected elements like drawstrings and topstitching create a design that is both dynamic and elegant. SWAY dress allows unrestricted movement while still maintaining a feminine silhouette.

  • Choose medium-weight knit or woven fabrics with stretch, such as cotton knits or medium-weight jerseys. For example, you could use a jersey composition, double jersey, wool jersey, bamboo jersey, stretch crepe, or stretch knit. The samples are made from a grey polyester crepe and a navy/mustard wool jersey. If you opt for a contrasting fabric for the facings, make sure that the fabric composition matches or closely resembles the main fabric.

  • For sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9)

    Dress fabric midi version: width 55"/140 cm, length 79.2 (81.2, 83.1, 85.1, 87.5) (89.8, 107.1, 109.9, 111.9)" / 201 (206, 211, 216, 222) (228, 272, 279, 284) cm

GENOVEVA cape
by Susanne Hirt
#TAUKOgenoveva

  • The GENOVEVA cape is a testament to Susanne Hirt´s commitment to movement and functionality. Perfect for walking or cycling, this cape offers protection from the elements with its rainproof design. Featuring two spacious patch pockets at the front, it offers ample storage for various essentials. Internal straps ensure a snug fit and added safety while cycling. Illuminated bands on the back and hood enhance visibility in low-light conditions. When not in use, the cape folds neatly into its integrated back pocket, doubling as a comfortable cushion for impromptu naps on train journeys.

  • Choose a light to medium-weight rainproof woven fabric. Fabrics such as oilskin, coated cotton, or water-repellent nylon work very well. Depending on the lightness and drape of the fabric you choose, the boxy silhouette of the design will be more pronounced. If you’re just starting your sewing journey, we recommend coated cotton instead of nylon.

  • Cape fabric: width 55"/140 cm, length 150"/380 cm

    Interfacing: approx. 4 x 4"/10 x 10 cm
