Hack the Pattern – November Community Meeting
Our November TAUKO Community Call was all about creativity, play and confidence at the cutting table. This time, we gathered around the theme of pattern hacking — learning how to shape, tweak and transform existing designs into something uniquely your own.
Stefanie guided us through the foundations of modifying patterns, beginning with how to read the shapes you already have and understand the structure behind them. She walked us through essential measurements to pay attention to — waist hight — and explained how these affect fit when you start altering a pattern.
We explored how to combine pieces from different designs, how to recognise compatible pattern blocks and how small changes can lead to entirely new silhouettes. Stefanie also shared simple approaches for creating your own base block, helping you build a personalised foundation for future projects.
It was an inspiring and encouraging session, filled with practical techniques and clear examples to help makers feel more at ease experimenting with their patterns.
