CREST is a zero-waste design featuring signature ties that adjust the fit and silhouette. It can be made into either a dress or a blouse and uses the full width of the fabric. Any scraps are turned into casings and ties. No overlocker is required as folded seams and casings create clean, raw-edge-free finishes. With fully illustrated sewing instructions, this project introduces the fundamentals of zero-waste garment construction and neat seam finishes while ensuring the sewing process remains accessible and enjoyable.
The design is created using two pattern templates. The pattern is measured and drawn directly onto the fabric. This method differs fundamentally from the process of tracing and sewing from ready-made patterns.
