Inspired by mountainwear, the KINDLING quilted jumper and vest is a playful layer for city and country alike. Constructed from four quilted pieces, the jumper sports a crew neck, a high-low hem, and construction details reminiscent of vintage military liners. All seams are bias bound for a garment that is beautiful inside and out. KINDLING’s boxy shape and adjustable ties offer a great fit for a variety of bodies. Enjoy the ride and stay warm out there!

Shannon McCann, a creator from a small mountain town in the Canadian Pacific Northwest, brings a playful touch to functional garments and natural fibres.

Fit and size:
The KINDLING quilted jumper has two sleeve options: full-length, tapered sleeves or wide, cropped sleeves. The taperedsleeve lends a more athletic, close-fitting design to the garment, whereas the boxy, cropped sleeves allow for artful layering or a cosy topper for chic backcountry comfort. Ditch the sleeves and KINDLING becomes a popover vest.

Choose your size based on your bust measurement. Add a recommended positive ease of 2–8"/5–21 cm. Sophia Mitiku is 68"/173 cm tall and wears the KINDLING vest in size 1–3. Marium Durrani is 63"/160 cm tall and wears the KINDLING wide-sleeved (cropped) jumper in size 1–3.

Fabric recommendations:
Choose light to medium-weight woven fabrics with no stretch, such as cotton poplin or lawn, quilting cotton, lightweight canvas, linen, and linen blends. The wide, cropped-sleeve sample is made from blue meetMILK “Vida Voile Alpin Lyocell” (100% Tencel, 3.24 oz/110 gsm). The vest is made from grey hemp fabric (100% hemp, 5.01 oz/170 gsm). Files:
A4 (home printing) and A0 (copy shop printing) PDF files with layers, sizes nested. Sewing instructions are in a separate PDF file. As an extra, this pattern also includes “Paper saving pdf files” where each size has its own more efficient layout. If you only want to print one size, using these files is one way to reduce the amount of paper needed.
