The Cardamom trousers are low-waisted with a long, wide leg and a loose fit. You can adjust the length of the legs by increasing or decreasing the gathering at the front and/or back of the leg. The trousers feature vertical tunnels for gathering, and you can use a thin cord, ribbon, or self-sewn ribbon, if you wish. You can choose to gather the front or back only, or tie several sections. The top of the trousers should be flat, with the gathering starting below the crotch. 

Version A involves tying the waistband on both sides with ribbon. Here, the side seam opens at the top with a slit. Version B involves closing the waistband on one side with buttons and adding a fly shield to the side seam opening.
