Juliette Gallois is a French pattern designer and ballet dancer. She is drawn to movement in fabric and loves creating garments that are comfortable for people of all sizes and genders. Juliette publishes her designs under the name La Baptistine Couture.
CARMY is a genderless jacket with a 90s vibe. Juliette chose the name after watching the series The Bear, where Chef Carmen often wears denim. CARMY is a piece you can throw on when you don’t know what to wear. It’s easy and comfortable and takes the classic denim jacket to the next level. Play with fabrics and colours to create a unique jacket that’s perfect for you!
From each pattern purchase, we give 50% to the designer. Our goal is to support independent creatives and promote a democratic and open society.

Fabric Recommendations:
Choose non-stretch medium to heavyweight woven fabrics such as heavy cotton or denim. Wool and tweed also work well to create an extra layer of warmth. For a summer version, choose a light fabric to create a blouse variation. The patchwork sample is made using medium-weight denim fabrics from the designer’s stash. The striped sample is made in “Railroad Denim” (100% cotton, 11 oz/310 gsm) by Merchant & Mills.
