The HIGHLAND cropped sweater has a relaxed boxy cut and pairs nicely over base layers like turtlenecks, T-shirts, and jeans. It can also create a beautiful silhouette when worn over a flowy dress. The sleeves have several different variations: they can either be cropped, elbow-length with binding, or full-length with short cuffs – or you can attach elongated cuffs to the cropped sleeves. The bodice can be lengthened or shortened using the “lengthen/shorten here” lines on the front bodice and back bodice pattern pieces. You can also choose to make a straight hem by simply straightening the hemline at your preferred length.

Fit and size:
Choose your size based on your bust measurement. Add a recommended positive ease of approximately 8"/20 cm at the bust. Pick the size that is the best match for your bust.

Kaisa Alingué is 67"/169 cm tall and cropped sleeve version of HIGHLAND size 3. Kreettaliisa Rahkamaa-Alingué is 67"/170 cm tall and wears navy blue HiGHLAND in size 3.

Fabric recommendations:
HIGHLAND works best with medium to heavy-weight knits or coatings that have little to no stretch (up to 25% horizontal stretch). Suitable fabrics include wool stretch knits, wool coating blends, quilted knits, brushed sweater knits, sweatshirt fleeces, medium/heavyweight French terrys, and scuba. Make sure the fabric is thick enough to create the stand-up collar. The cuffs require a stretchy fabric with good recovery (around 75% horizontal and 25% vertical stretch). Recommended fabrics include ribbing, jersey, other cotton/lycra knits, or bamboo spandex.

The long-sleeved sample sweater is made from “GOTS Certified Brushed Sweat” (100% organic cotton, 8.26 oz/280 gsm) in navy by Ecological Textiles. The cropped sleeve sample sweat- er is made from "Minerva Core Range 100% Boiled Wool Coating Fabric” (approximately 6.19oz/210 gsm) in denim blue from Minerva.
