Designer Call for TAUKO Issue No.21
We’re excited to announce that the submission call for TAUKO Magazine Issue No. 21 is now officially open! This upcoming autumn 26 edition will explore “Re-Design” as a creative clothing solution that allows garments to adapt, evolve, and stay wearable longer.
We are seeking innovative designs that focus on:
• Garments that are easy to repair or alter, such as enhanced seam allowances or adaptable hems.
• Modular pieces; for example, versatile collars, changeable lengths, or multi-purpose garments.
• Ideas that inspire reuse and playful adaptation.
Who can apply:
Open to all designers, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, ability, size, sexual identity, or age. We will select 8–10 designers. Multiple submissions are welcome, provided they are original and unpublished (including photos of samples).
What We Offer:
Selected designers will receive:
• Full pattern development support, including grading in nine sizes.
• Proofreading and editorial assistance for sewing instructions.
• A complete online sales package, so your design can be sold digitally.
• Exposure through social media features, a magazine editorial feature, professional photography and hand-drawn illustrations
• A printed copy of the issue and the opportunity for wholesale purchasing.
• A 50% commission on PDF sales, with exclusivity lasting four months, then you’re free to sell independently.
Important Dates:
• Submission Deadline: October 5, 2025
• Selection Notifications: October 10, 2025
• Final Patterns & Samples Due: December 1, 2025
How to Submit:
Submit a design sketch (ideally on a body) and a short description covering:
• Design inspiration
• Suggested materials
• How your design aligns with “Re-Design”
You may also include any additional materials, up to 10 MB in PDF format.
