Designer Call: PLEATS and HOME

Our next designer call is open! TAUKO Magazine is looking for sewing pattern designers for two upcoming issues: PLEATS for Autumn 2027 and HOME for Winter 2027.

For Issue No.24: PLEATS, we invite designers to explore folds as construction, shaping and detail. Pleats can be crisp and architectural or soft and subtle, traditional or unexpected. A design doesn’t need to be covered in pleats – sometimes one carefully considered fold is enough to transform a garment.

For Issue No.25: HOME, we are looking for designs that bring comfort, function and beauty into everyday life. Think of garments for home-office days, slow mornings, days off and gatherings with friends and family – clothes that feel comfortable while still making you feel dressed. Alongside garments, we also welcome patterns for textile projects for the home, from quilts and cushions to table textiles, storage and other useful and beautiful objects.

The call is open to designers from around the world, and you can submit an idea for either theme – or for both. We will select approximately 8–10 designers for each issue.

To apply, you only need a design sketch and a short presentation of your idea, including your inspiration, suggested fabrics and how the design responds to the theme. If selected, TAUKO can support you with pattern-making, grading and technical development.
