LIDO is a super quick and easy make that results in a sturdy bag with neat, beautiful finishes. With its timeless design, you can transform the LIDO tote into a personalized bag: whether as a simple canvas tote or a chic leather carry-all, the possibilities are endless. Trace the pattern directly onto the fabric with simple measurements – it couldn’t be any easier!

The tote comes in two sizes: large (L) and extra large (XL). You can also use bias binding instead of cotton twill tape – just make sure it is not too soft: the top opening works better with a strong tape. If you’re using leather or a non-fraying material, you may not need to finish the seams with tape or binding. You can decide for yourself whether this is necessary or not.

Fabric Recommendations:
For this design, we recommend using heavy-weight materials such as linen, cotton canvas, upholstery fabrics, oilskin, corduroy, denim, leather, waterproof fabrics, reclaimed boat sails, or any fabric that is relatively stiff and sturdy for strength and durability.

The white L-size tote sample is made using a reclaimed sailing cloth. The printed XL sample is made in “MARARI Quilted Jacquard Cotton” (100% organic cambric cotton block print (regular cotton wadding), 12.8 oz/438 gsm) and “Howell Stone 38 mm” webbing (43% upcycled cotton, 38% polyester, 19% polypropylene).
