The LINDA top has a gathered hem, rectangular neckline, and cute puff sleeves. The special technique for constructing this design was developed by Cris Wood – so you don’t need any paper patterns to make it! The size is set by a simple formula that determines your fabric requirements. Once you get comfortable with the pattern and the process, you can make any changes you like: lengthen the hem to make a dress, add pockets, or create a sleeveless version. This is a very accessible and beginner-friendly project.

Fabric Recommendations:
Choose non-stretch woven fabrics. For the voluminous gathers, lightweight, floaty fabrics work best. Both solid and non-directional patterned cotton lawn, lightweight linens, and viscose are excellent choices.

The greenish blue sample is made from double layer muslin (double gauze) in the colour “bristol blue” (100% organic cotton, 3.8 oz/130 gsm). The light pink sample is made from cotton batiste (100% organic cotton, 2.65 oz/90 gsm). Both fabrics are by Ecotex.
