Drawing inspiration from the alpine folk style of the 1950s, the ANITA skirt celebrates structure and movement. Its countless small folds gather into a fitted, high waistband that shapes the silhouette, allowing the skirt to bloom voluminously below. The front button closure adds a practical and timeless touch.
Two variations offer different interpretations of this classic form. The knee-length version features two oversized quilted pockets that are like blank canvases, inviting you to express yourself through stitching, embroidery, or appliqué. Hidden inside are two smaller pockets, perfect for keeping tiny treasures close at hand. The midi-length version is more understated and conceals its pockets within the waistband for an elegant, minimalist look. With this pattern, you will learn how to create simple quilting and measure and shape your folds with confidence.
ANITA invites you to slow down, sew with care, and rediscover the beauty of garments that are imbued with memories and love in every stitch.

Fabric Recommendations:
Choose light to medium-weight woven fabrics with a soft drape, such as linen, cotton, hemp, wool, or blended materials. For the large pocket, opt for lightweight quilting padding.Bear in mind that you will need to turn your pattern pieces perpendicular to the grainline due to the voluminous width. Make sure that your fabric allows this and avoid directional prints or patterns.
